Looking into getting this mare thoughts?Sat, 21 May 2011 10:05:00 GMT

she looks all around nice and her conformation is quite good (my uncle went to see her, as i'm too sick to go) she's got some pretty impressive bloodlines and as you can see is very well trained. I've been getting into Paints lately as the rest of my family does cutting and camp...

Please help my horse & me?Sat, 21 May 2011 13:15:00 GMT

Okay, I haven't been able to ride my trainer's Hanoverian in a few months. But she's been cantering him once in a while. He know hasn't been ridden at all in about a month. He's about ten years old. A few years ago, he was jumping 3'6 in A shows. But now he...

Would this look weird?Tue, 26 Apr 2011 17:22:00 GMT

So, I was tack shopping for my horse today. I had found this really pretty lavender halter that I absolutely fell in love with. But I was hesitant to buy it and in the end didn't. For one reason, the tack store I was in was crazy expensive (I usually go to a different place), and for two I...

IMPORTANT, whenever other horses are around mine ignores me, & they are saying to use a stronger bit ?Sat, 21 May 2011 11:21:00 GMT

I have a 7 year old Haflinger, and he's really good, you barely have to squeeze or anything, backs up with barely any pressure, and he turns nicely. The only problem is when cantering he will NOT slow down, half halts he ignores. He usually just goes back to a trot. But today I stopped to...

Do you think this is reasonable? Or ridiculous?Mon, 25 Apr 2011 23:11:00 GMT

So yesterday my trainer told me and my parents. She was telling me how she wants me to take 2 of my 6 classes online so I get out of school early and I can ride more. I can alter my schedule to that easy so I have 4 classes, then leave before lunch but I don't know, do you think I would...

Riding Without Gloves In Ribbed Breeches = OW?Sat, 21 May 2011 11:34:00 GMT

So, this past Wednesday evening I went to work with one of the young greenies I am schooling. Unfortunately, he spooked big time and I didn't have time to stop or turn him before he went from 100 to 0 in the corner of the arena. I fell, landed sideways on my knees, and had to go to the ER. ...

Have any great tips to remove burrs from mane & tail? I need them!?Sat, 21 May 2011 11:19:00 GMT

Well the girls broke down a fence yesterday and apparently proceeded to find a giant patch of burrs to play in. Montana (our clyde mare) has managed to become a giant burr. I am actually serious here - her tail, mane and forelock are now compacted masses of burrs (looks like she now has a docked...

Mustang Wranglers. What do you think of them?Tue, 26 Apr 2011 13:26:00 GMT

Mustang Wranglers. Those people who round up the wild mustangs and use them for rodeo and other means. Personally I think the horses should just be left alone. Yes I know some people have them as riding horses but sometimes I think the wranglers are cruel. What do you think??...

Thoughts on this ?Tue, 26 Apr 2011 15:30:00 GMT

Romeo has "good" and "bad" days while on the lead. He's always good for a walk, but trotting takes some effort, and I refuse to puuull him into a trot. He likes to stop whenever he wants, as well. I've decided to start using a crop to get him to listen, and...

Anyone else still make good saddles?Tue, 26 Apr 2011 14:26:00 GMT

I am NOT a fan of most modern dressage saddles, that have big knee blocks, overstuffed panels, and uber deep seats. I like passiers a LOT and the stubben tristan. But I want to look at some other brands, in case I don't find one of those 5 saddles to fit properly....
